The Arizona Cultural Forum 2008
The Fourth Arizona Cultural Forum will happen February 8-10, 2008.
• The goals of The Cultural Forum are to create opportunities for new
learning by convening artists and scholars to share their knowledge
with a general public in free or nominal cost events for seniors,
university students, and families.
• Imparted in relaxed settings, new knowledge, appreciation, and
insights regarding the interconnectedness between science and art will
result from the free flow of ideas between presenting scholars,
artists, and our audiences. Harry Clark
and James Reel curate and
co-direct the Forum.
Important to note that all events, other than A Beautiful Deception
(Feb. 9th, part of the Rhythms of
LIFE Series at the Berger) are free and open to the public.
Limited seats for A Beautiful Deception remain
available and may be ordered on line (click here),
or by phone: 520-400-5439.

The
Technological Transformation of Human Perception: Impact on the Arts
The 2008 Arizona
Cultural Forum will explore the history and implications for the future
of the transformative power of technology on the arts, by combining
both didactic and artistic presentations to develop each of a set of
themes related to the topic of the Cultural Forum, engaging both left
and right brain interpretation and creativity. The didactic is
represented by an invited speaker or panel (perhaps drawn from
scientific, technical, business, or academic background) to give an
exciting and illuminating exposition on a theme, and the companion
artistic performance may be one of or a combination of music, imagery,
film, or a theatrical presentation.
Three themes will be explored in the 2008 Cultural Forum:
•How Do We Perceive?
•The History of Perception and the Arts
•The Future of Art via the Future of Perception
